UK MARKETS NERVOUS AS CHANCELLOR HEADS TO CHINA

Pound sterling is at a 14 month low against the dollar and the cost of UK government borrowing hit its most expensive since 2008 on Thursday - as investors worry about plans for the British economy.

Opposition politicians want the Government to review its budget plans for the year — and decried the UK finance minister's absence in Parliament earlier, as Chancellor Rachel Reeves heads off to China.
