The funeral service for former US President Jimmy Carter will be held
later today [Thursday] with the country holding a national day of
mourning.
Carter served one term in office as the 39th US President, from 1977 to 1981.
President Joe Biden will speak at a memorial service attended by other
former US presidents, before Carter is laid to rest in his home town
of Plains in Georgia.
