France waits for new prime minister announcement

Emmanuel Macron is cutting short a trip to Poland to return to Paris, ahead of the expected announcement of a new prime minister on Thursday.

The outgoing premier, Michel Barnier, is leaving the post after losing a no-confidence vote last week.
