US: BEIT LAHIA STRIKE 'HORRIFYING'

The US says it's 'deeply concerned' by an Israeli air strike on northern Gaza which the Hamas-run health ministry says left at least 93 people dead or missing.

Israel says it's looking into reports of civilians being harmed in the strike on the town of Beit Lahia.

Meanwhile four Israeli soldiers have been killed in northern Gaza.

It comes as international concern mounts about Israeli legislation to prevent the UN agency for Palestinian refugees operating in Israel.

Dr Husam Zomlot - Head of the Palestinian Mission to the United Kingdom - says it would have a devastating impact.
