EU hosts first Gulf summit

The European Union is set to host its first ever summit with Gulf
powers later on Wednesday.

Deepening trade ties will be high on the agenda with EU members also
seeking to persuade states in the Gulf Cooperation Council to distance
themselves from Russia.
