Spanish PM defends decision to offer Venezuelan opposition leader asylum


Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has defended his government's decision to offer political asylum to Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez.

Right-wing parties in Spain have criticised him for not recognising Gonzalez as the incoming president of Venezuela, after elections the European Union and U.S. say were rigged.
