Even as the southern Indian state of Kerala is reeling in the aftermath of landslides where the death toll has now crossed 300, many regions in the north of the country have also been ravaged by heavy rains and flooding.
Officials are blaming the above average rainfall this month on the La NiƱa effect, which brings more rain to the subcontinent in the monsoon season.
