Heavy rains in India's western coast leaves at least 36 dead; thousands relocated

Heavy rains have battered India's western state of Gujarat, leaving at least 36 people dead, and forcing thousands to evacuate from low-lying areas.

The Indian meteorological department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall in regions across the state, as it predicts a cyclonic storm to develop in the Arabian sea by Friday.
