The United States was "not aware of" or "involved in" the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The Palestinian militant group's chief political figure was killed in Iran's capital Tehran on Wednesday, just hours after an Israeli airstrike took out a senior Hezbollah military commander in Lebanon — deaths which threaten to plunge an already unstable region further into chaos.
