Israel strikes Beirut in retaliation for Golan Heights soccer pitch attack

Israel has confirmed it was behind the missile strike on Lebanon's
capital Beirut.

Its military says it was a targeted strike against a Hezbollah
commander, who carried out the attack at the weekend on the Golan
Heights, that hit a soccer pitch.

Hezbollah denied involvement in that strike, which killed 12 children
and teenagers.
