In a move that is expected to significantly ramp up regional tensions, Hamas says its political leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Iran and has blamed Tel Aviv for his death.
Israel is yet to comment but says it is holding a 'situational assessment'. Hamas called Haniyeh's death a 'cowardly act that will not go unpunished'.
