The US' top doctor has declared gun violence a public health crisis, driven by the fast-growing number of injuries and deaths involving firearms in the country.
Dr Vivek Murthy, the nation's surgeon general, issued an advisory on Tuesday calling on policymakers to pass stronger laws to reduce harm.
