JUNIOR DOCTORS STRIKE IN ENGLAND

Junior doctors are beginning a new strike in England over pay.

Patients are being told to expect disruption to operations and hospital appointments, with the walk-out set to last a week.

The government says pay demands by junior doctors' unions are unreasonable.

Co-Chair of the British Medical Association's Junior Doctors' Committee Dr Robert Laurenson says they want to come to a deal with whoever is in government after next week's election.
