Nigeria has suspended a planned levy on electronic transfers to fund cybersecurity.
This followed widespread outcry that the new tax scheme would worsen a cost of living crisis.
The Central Bank of Nigeria had in a circular last week directed all banks and mobile money operators to charge 0.5% of the value of electronic transfers as a cybersecurity levy.
