Hungary's government has issued an ultimatum to independent fuel stations and state-owned oil company MOL to lower petrol and diesel prices which are currently among the highest in Central and Eastern Europe.
If the oil insdustry fails to comply the government has threatened to intervene and possible reinstate fuel price caps .
