The United Nations General Assembly has adopted the first global
resolution on artificial intelligence.
The resolution tabled by the United States aims to encourage the
protection of personal data, monitoring AI for risks, and safeguarding
human rights.
This is a nonbinding resolution but according to Linda Thomas
Greenfield, the US' Ambassador to the UN, this is just the first step
in ensuring AI technology is used and developed responsibly.
It comes amid fears the technology could be used to disrupt democratic
processes, increase fraud or lead to dramatic job losses....
