Bank of Japan scraps negative interest rates

The Bank of Japan is lifting its benchmark interest rate for the first time since 2007. 

It announced the long-standing negative-point-one (-0.1) percent rate will be raised to point-one (0.1) percent following a two day policy meeting in Tokyo.
