BRITISH NEWSPAPER GROUP SETTLES PRIVACY CLAIMS WITH PRINCE HARRY

A British newspaper group has decided to pay Prince Harry $500,000 in damages, plus legal costs, rather than take to trial more than a hundred alleged breaches of his privacy.

The King's youngest son proved Mirror Group Newspapers had hacked his phone, and engaged in other illegal methods of news gathering at trial last year.

That conclusion was reached for 15 articles. Friday's settlement avoids a court case to go through the dozens more.

Stuart Smith reports from London.
