Texas Supreme Court blocks woman’s emergency abortion request

The Texas Supreme Court has overturned a lower court's order allowing a Dallas woman to get an emergency abortion. Kate Cox had made the request under the state's "medical emergency" exception after learning her fetus had a fatal condition and was unlikely to survive.  Hours before the ruling came down - Cox's lawyers announced she had left the state to terminate her pregnancy.
