Justin Trudeau sees ‘shift’ in Canada-India ties after US indictment

A day after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his silence on the United States' allegations of an Indian official's involvement in an assassination plot against a sikh separatist, his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau says India now seems 'more open to collaborating' with Ottawa.

Trudeau's comments come as India has repeatedly made a distinction between allegations made by Canada and the United States over assassination plots targeting Khalistani separatists, saying Canada's claims were not backed by evidence.

The Indian government is yet to respond to Mr Trudeau's comments.
