Former US President Donald Trump is endorsing Congressman Jim Jordan's bid for Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Congress's lower chamber has been in a state of stasis for days after Kevin McCarthy was ousted from the role by members of his own Republican Party.
The race is now hotting up to replace him, with another government shutdown deadline looming.
