Senior U.S. and Chinese officials meet for talks

The White House has confirmed that a top U.S. official has met with
China's Foreign Minister over the weekend.

Relations have been strained over recent months but the session could
pave the way for a meeting between President Joe Biden and China's
leader Xi Jinping.
