Indonesian President Joko Widodo called for establishing southeast Asia as a theatre of peace and inclusiveness in his closing remarks at the ASEAN summit in Jakarta.
But the bloc is widely seen to have failed in solving critical issues including tensions in the South China Sea and conflict in Myanmar.
