UK Viewers Watching Less Traditional TV

The number of viewers tuning in to watch traditional broadcast television each week in the UK has seen the sharpest fall since records began.

The data from the industry regulator Ofcom shows the proportion of people watching traditional TV each week has declined from 83% in 2021 to 79% in 2022.

As competition from streaming services grows, people are also watching broadcast television for a shorter period each day.

Yih-Choung Teh ((pron: e-chong tay)), from Ofcom, says the viewing habits of older viewers in the UK is also changing.

In: Well as viewers…

Out: …less broadcast TV.
