House prices in the UK have recorded their biggest annual drop for 14 years.
New figures from the Nationwide Building Society show a 3.8% annual fall in July - the biggest since 2009.
The price of a typical home is now 4.5% below the August 2022 peak.
But despite the drop, house prices are still unaffordable for many people, with high interest rates also putting people off wanting to take out a mortgage.
Nationwide's Senior Economist Andrew Harvey said the problem is especially bad for those trying to get on the property ladder.
