Seventeen hostages have been rescued by Congolese and Ugandan troops carrying out joint military operations against rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Spokesperson of the joint operation, Colonel Mak Hazukay says the hostages were rescued on Thursday in the village of Kamungu as their forces pursued the rebels.
