NO "IMMEDIATE DANGER" FROM VOLCANO ERUPTION: ICELANDIC AUTHORITIES

Authorities in Iceland say there is no immediate risk to communities or infrastructure after a volcano in the country began erupting. 

A 200 metre fissure of lava has been detected - and people are being told not to venture too close to the area given the intensity of toxic gases.
