NATO leaders say they won't commit to a time frame to allow Ukraine to become a member of the alliance, despite criticism from Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelenskyy, who attended the NATO summit in Lithuania.
At the close of day one of the summit, the alliance published a communique saying that it will be in a position to extend an invitation to Ukraine "when allies agree and conditions are met."
There was one concession for Kyiv though - making the eventual inclusion of Ukraine into NATO, a one step not two step process.
