India's Supreme Court to hear petition of Manipur sexual assault victims

India's Supreme Court is hearing a petition filed by two women from the north-eastern state of Manipur, who were paraded naked and sexually assaulted by a mob in May. The crime was caught on camera and sparked nationwide protests. The Indian government has also urged the court to transfer the probe into the case out of Manipur on the grounds that it could lead to more ethnic clashes. More than 120 have died and over 60,000 have been displaced in Manipur since the clashes first began in May this year.
