Donald Trump's lawyers insist he is "ready for a fight" as the country nervously awaits his expected appearance on Tuesday at a Manhattan court following his indictment by a grand jury.
Mr Trump will become the first former US President to face criminal charges for his alleged role in a 2016 hush money payment to cover-up an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Whilst that $130,000 payment was not illegal, prosecutors could accuse him of falsifying business records, and potentially breaking election law, which would constitute a felony.
Benji Hyer reports.
