US President Joe Biden has announced almost $700m in funding to help
boost democracies around the world.
He was speaking on day two of the Summit for Democracy.
However, the Biden administration has been criticized for making
little progress in upholding human rights and advancing democratic
freedoms since the last summit, 15 months ago.
