The Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC) says it has registered 784 confirmed cases of Lassa fever with 142 deaths.
The cases were recorded in about three months across 23 out of the 36 States in the country.
Lassa fever is an acute viral haemorrhagic fever caused by consuming foods contaminated by rats.
