The United Nations secretariat says teams are on the ground assessing the needs in both Türkiye and Syria.
U.N Secretary General spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric says the UN is trying to provide assistance despite power shortages and disruptions to telecommunications.
Dujarric added that preliminary assessments indicate hospitals are already overwhelmed and there is an urgent need for tents and non-food items, in particular blankets, heating fuel, stoves and plastic sheets.
