Syria appeals for assistance from the U.N

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations has appealed to
U.N Secretary General, Antonio Guterres for urgent assistance.
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Türkiye and Syria on Monday morning
leaving thousands dead and several injured.
Speaking from the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Bassam
Sabbagh said, Syria is in urgent need of rescue personnel, medical
supplies and humanitarian aid.
