Thousands of protesters loyal to the Brazil's former president, Jair Bolsonaro have stormed government buildings and clashed with police in the capital Brasilia, many demanding that the military arrest the current president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva,
The far-right Bolsonaro has yet to publicly concede he lost the election October, in which he was defeated by Lula who tallied around 51% of the vote.
On Twitter, US President Joe Biden condemned what he called the assault on democracy and on the peaceful transfer of power in Brazil.
Journalist Beatriz Correa, who's in Sao Paulo, says president Lula has warned the protestors of the consequences of their actions.
