TAIWAN PRESIDENT THANKS GERMAN LAWMAKERS FOR VISIT

Taiwan's President has thanked a group of German lawmakers for visiting Taipei as it faces growing tensions with China.

In a meeting, President Tsai Ing-wen told the MPs that their trip was a show of support for freedom and democracy.
