Rescue underway in India's Joshimath amid fears of the city sinking

Residents of India’s Joshimath (Joe-she-mut) town are about their city sinking after more than 600 houses there developed deep cracks.

The federal government has deployed rescue teams and has declared the Himalayan city a disaster-prone area.
