EU CHIEF TELLS ZELENSKY "THE EU STANDS BY YOU, FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES"

The President of the European Commission has said the EU will maintain its support for Ukraine throughout the New Year, as Russia continues to hit civilian infrastructure with kamikaze drones and cruise missiles. 

In a phone call to Kyiv, the EU chief also said she hopes to organise an in-person meeting soon between European leaders and the Ukrainian government.
