US lawmakers race to fund govt

The US House of Representatives is expected to vote in the coming
hours on an almost $1.7 trillion dollar bill to fund the government
through the next nine months.

Lawmakers are racing to beat a self-imposed deadline of midnight
Friday when the government is scheduled to shutdown.
