An army veteran who disarmed a man suspected of killing five people in an LGBTQ nightclub in the US state of Colorado says he went into combat mode when the shooting started.
The attack by a suspected gunman who was arrested last year over a bomb threat has renewed questions about the implementation of "red flag" laws which aim to remove firearms from individuals considered at risk of harming themselves or others.
