US panel says religious freedom threatened in India

A US panel has said that religious freedom and human rights are threatened in India for several reasons, including a failure of government policies to protect minorities.

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has urged the American government to designate India as a "country of particular concern" for tolerating systematic violations of religious freedom.
