LIVING STANDARDS CONCERNS AFTER UK 'BUDGET'

Economists are warning the UK government's autumn statement has piled further pressure on so-called "squeezed middle" households.

The Resolution Foundation found that tax rises will mean typical households face a 3.7 percent hit to their incomes.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt says his measures will help to tackle inflation and restore public finances.

Liberal Democrat Baroness Susan Kramer says many will really feel the pinch.
