Four times more children killed in UK military Afghan operations than previously disclosed

The UK government has paid compensation for the deaths of 64 children in Afghanistan, four times more than previously acknowledged.

The children were killed in fighting involving UK forces between 2006 and 2014, according to new figures from the charity Action on Armed Violence.

The Ministry of Defence had formerly only admitted to 16 child fatalities in Afghanistan.

Sally Patterson has more in London.
