Cars, vans, lorries and trucks sold in the European Union will have to comply with tougher emissions rules in future under new plans aimed at improving air quality.
The EU says its proposals, dubbed "Euro 7 standards", will be the first in the world to regulate emissions of harmful ultrafine particles from brakes and tires.
