Eight European lawmakers are in Taiwan for talks with high-ranking officials including president Tsai Ing-wen.
The trip comes amid heightened tensions over the self-ruled island after the Chinese Communist Party's recent congress.
Two of the participating parliamentarians are under Chinese sanctions, accused of spreading disinformation and blacklisted after the European Union sanctioned several Chinese officials over alleged abuses in Xinjiang.
