Biden: Midterms were “good day for democracy”

US President Joe Biden has said the Midterm elections were a "good day
for democracy".

He was speaking after the results proved to be far less damaging for
the Democratic party than had been expected.

He said there was still a "possibility" the Democrats could hang onto
the House - but admitted it was going to be "very close".

Democrats managed to prevent the predicted Republican red wave,
holding onto a number of key seats, including some that seemed
particularly vulnerable to being flipped by the Republicans.
