Mixed close on Wall Street as traders await inflation data

It was a mixed close for the U.S. markets Tuesday as investors await
the release of some key inflation data later in the week.

And it was a bad day for ride-hailing firms Uber and Lyft after the
Labor Department proposed changes to the gig economy.
