EU sanctions Iranian minister, morality police over protest crackdown and Mahsa Amini death

The European Union has imposed new sanctions on eleven people and four entities in Iran which the bloc says are responsible for the death of Mahsa Amini and subsequent human rights violations.


Demonstrations erupted in Iran after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in detention last month. The EU accuses Iranian authorities of violently repressing peaceful protesters.
