Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a partial mobilisation of the country's reserve forces to join the fight in Ukraine.
He says the extra personnel will be required to protect the sovereignty and integrity of Russia, in anticipation that four regions of Ukraine will be annexed, after announcing referendums in these regions on Tuesday.
