Royal transition underway in UK as King Charles prepares to address nation and Commonwealth on Friday

A royal transition is underway in Britain following the death of the country's longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.


Her son, now to be known as King Charles III, will make his first address to the nation and the Commonwealth on Friday.


He was at the Balmoral estate in Scotland when the Queen died on Thursday afternoon.
